Iconic Japanese singer Masami Okui is set to release her first single in nearly eight years, Baby Baby Baby, on April 23, 2025, under the Lantis label. The track marks a significant return for the artist, who has been a major figure in the anime music scene for decades. This highly anticipated single will serve as the opening theme for the upcoming TV anime Please Put Them On, Takamine-san, which premieres in April 2025.

About Please Put Them On, Takamine-san,

The brand new trailer above, gives fans a preview of the opening and ending theme songs: “Baby Baby Baby” by Masami Okui featuring Bonjour Suzuki and “Hightail it” by Makoto Furukawa.

Based on the manga by Yuichi Hiiragi, Please Put Them On, Takamine-san is directed by Tomoe Makino, known for Aharen-san wa Hakarenai, at studio LIDEN FILMS. The series is written by Yu Sato, best known for TONIKAWA: Over The Moon For You, with character designs and chief animation direction by Ryo Yamauchi and Maya Ito. Music for the series is composed by Takeshi Nakatsuka, who previously worked on My Dress-Up Darling.

Fans can look forward to the hilarious antics of this ecchi comedy as it unfolds in Japan on April 2, 2025.

Baby Baby Baby OP

The lead track, Baby Baby Baby, is a collaboration between Okui and Bonjour Suzuki, blending Okui’s powerful vocals with Suzuki’s playful, coquettish singing style. Fans can look forward to a catchy and dynamic opening theme that perfectly captures the essence of the anime.

The single will also feature a coupling track written by R・O・N, showcasing a cooler, more reserved side of Okui’s vocal range. The contrast between the two tracks is expected to highlight Okui’s versatility as an artist, offering fans a diverse listening experience.

This release will come in two editions: a limited first-edition 8 cm single, featuring exclusive artwork for Please Put Them On, Takamine-san and a new photo of Okui, evoking the charm of her classic releases, and a standard 12 cm edition. Both versions will include off-vocal versions of the tracks, making them a must-have for both music lovers and collectors.

Single Details:

Okui, known for her past theme songs for iconic anime such as Slayers and Revolutionary Girl Utena, has also contributed her talents to the popular anime music collective JAM Project. With Baby Baby Baby, she continues to showcase her enduring influence in the anime music world.
