Mori Calliope to Perform “Go-Getters” for Suicide Squad ISEKAI

Popular VTuber artist Mori Calliope, known for her global success with a unique mix of Japanese and English lyrics with an impressive rap skills, has been making waves since her major debut with Universal Music in 2022. Her recent EP, “JIGOKU 6,” not only dominated the iTunes Album Rock Charts in nine countries but also secured spots on the US Billboard World Album and Top Album Sales charts, solidifying her status as a “Made in Japan” artist on the international scene. Now, her latest track, “Go-Getters,” has been chosen as the ending theme for the upcoming TV anime Suicide Squad ISEKAI, set to premiere globally in summer 2024.

Suicide Squad ISEKAI, an original anime series based on DC characters and produced by Warner Bros. Japan and WIT Studio, is helmed by director Eri Osada and penned by writers Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara. Following the action packed escapades of Harley Quinn and the Suicide Squad in the realms of ISEKAI (another world), the anime released a promotional video today featuring Mori Calliope’s “Go-Getters.”

Mori Calliope is slated to join the AnimeJapan 2024 stage event titled “Suicide Squad ISEKAI: Villains’ Party in ISEKAI” on March 23 from 9:15 – 9:50 AM (JST) / March 22, 4:15 – 4:50 PM (PST). Guests appearing Anna Nagase (voice of Harley Quinn), Yuuichirou Umehara (voice of the Joker), Reigo Yamaguchi (voice of Deadshot), Jun Fukuyama (voice of Clayface), Taku Yashiro (voice of Rick Flag), Kujira (voice of Amanda Waller), & Reina Ueda (voice of Fione).

Fans can catch the event’s live stream on Warner Bros. Japan Anime’s official YouTube channel, ABEMA, Nico Nico Douga, and other platforms.

ANIME-maiacs | Hulu’s Animaniacs reboot will feature an Anime skit

After 22 years, Tom Ruegger’s iconic, Kids TV series, The Animaniacs are back! The new show will start streaming on Hulu on Nov 20th, 2020! The Animaniacs were known for their comedy, variety show skits, music and celebrity cameos. The show ran for roughly 5 years and spawned an animated film (1999) and two spin-offs. To this day its considered one of the most iconic and memorable animated TV series to be produced by Warner Bros and Steven Spielberg.

Fast forward 22 years, The Animaniacs are back! Although character designs and voice actors for the lead characters remained the same, the new show will integrate new and current topics, subcultures and genres including, the now, easily accessible Anime genre.

Getting in touch with modern and current subcultures, in the newest trailer, lead characters Yakko, Wakko and Dot are shown with anime style animation, leaving fans to wonder what type of skit is in store in this new series.

Although this is not the first time we’ve seen anime style animation in western TV shows as seen in The Amazing World of Gumball, this is the VERY first time its been used in a revival for a series that’s been off air for 22 years.
