Jorge R.Gutierrez’s Artshow

On July 9th 2016, Jorge R.Gutierrez held his first solo art show in Los Angeles!

Jorge R.Gutierrez, is most notably known for directing/creating the film, The Book of Life & Nickelodeon’s El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera. Jorge was also responsible for the art that made The Book of Life come to life. Check photos from the event below:

Hosted at the Gregorio Escalante Gallery in China Town,  Jorge displayed his fantastic paintings in his first solo art show, which he dubbed, “Border Bang“.  According to Jorge, his paintings were all inspired by “The cheap knock-offs they sell at the border [. . .]” and took about 2 weeks to complete 1 painting. Each painting was around $2,000.

These were only a few of Jorge’s fantastic artwork. We hope we get to see more of Jorge and his art soon.

Check out  PLANCHECK’S newest collaboration with SANRIO!

(Unfortunately, this promotional menu was only available from June 10th – July 10th and is no longer being served.)

This wasn’t the first collaborate between the two parties, last year, PlanCheck collaborated with SANRIO collaboration make the GUDETAMA Menu. We covered that here!

According to SANRIO’s official website, their first collaboration happened in 2014. it was part of Hello Kitty’s Hungry Hunt – a promotion in celebration of the pop icon’s 40th Anniversary.

Its safe to say, there’ll be another collaboration soon, When that happens we are prepared to cover it yet again!

I was personally inspired by this awesome, Kawaii menu that I made a small photo shoot in its honour (Click an image to enlarge).
